The Valparaíso region has a new Unimarc, this time in the Pinares de Montemar neighborhood of the Concón district, adding to the 27 stores already operating in the Fifth Region. With this opening, SMU – parent company of Unimarc, Alvi, Mayorista 10, and Super10 – reaches seven new store openings across its formats in Chile and Peru so far in 2025.

The new store, located at San Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer #861, Concón, spans 1,093 square meters and features 12 checkout counters, 8 of which are self-service. It also represents a significant source of employment for the community, with 65% of its workforce coming from Concón.

The supermarket stands out for its specialized departments such as Del Huerto (fresh produce), La Parrilla (grill), delicatessen, and bakery, among others, offering a wide variety of premium products. It also includes the “Mundo Bío” section, featuring natural and bulk product options.

The Mayor of Concón, Freddy Ramírez, who attended the opening, highlighted: “This reflects the trust placed in our district, which continues to grow every day. When a supermarket as important as Unimarc arrives, it generates economic activity, employment, and community – something we value highly. We are very pleased and hope this will be the first of many stores in Concón.”

This opening is part of the company’s omnichannel growth plan, which envisions 80 new stores in Chile and 35 in Peru over the next five years. With the inauguration of the new Unimarc Pinares de Montemar in Concón, the supermarket chain now totals more than 400 locations nationwide, including 37 in the Valparaíso region.
