Unimarc continues to expand its footprint in Chile with a new store opening in Santo Domingo, the second location in the city and the 27th in the Valparaíso Region. This is SMU’s third store opening this year across all its formats—Unimarc, Alvi, Mayorista 10, and Super10.

The new supermarket is located at Ruta 66 #1, Lot 2, Los Morros sector, Santo Domingo, and offers 868 square meters of retail space. It features nine checkout counters, six of which are self-service. The store also brings new job opportunities to the area, with a team of 35 local employees.

With 27 stores now operating in Valparaíso and two in Santo Domingo, we are staying true to our mission of being close to our customers and providing them with the best shopping experience. The inauguration was also attended by Santo Domingo Mayor Fernando Rodríguez, who stated: “We encourage Unimarc to continue working collaboratively to help build this wonderful community. Thank you for believing in Santo Domingo with this second store, and for your forward-looking vision that recognizes the growth potential of our city.”

With this latest addition, Unimarc now operates 297 stores throughout Chile, reinforcing SMU’s 2023–2025 strategic plan, which includes robust omnichannel growth across all its retail formats.
